Squish was founded in 2017 by Dan and Rob, friends since primary school, after they noticed that some of the UK’s best bartenders were being given pasteurised juice. It was a bit like asking a Michelin-starred chef to cook with tinned vegetables. After plenty of research and overnight trips to New Covent Garden Market, they set out to press juice specifically for the bar: a properly strained lemon and lime, a real cranberry juice, and a pineapple that tastes like biting into the fruit. Vicky joined as employee number three, led production from their railway arch in Battersea, and later became a partner.
Squish works closely with growers who cultivate for flavour, and presses only the freshest produce at its peak.
The juices are cold-pressed and never have sugar added, giving bartenders and chefs vibrant, consistent quality. They are used everywhere from independent bars to restaurants with over 60 Michelin stars, including The Ritz, The Savoy and Harrods, and are as much an ingredient as a drink.
Squish is also open about the environmental side of juicing. The business acknowledges that it relies on global supply chains and natural resources that put pressure on the environment, and says it is committed to doing what it can. The new exclusive cocktail mixers extend the range from the juice bar to the cocktail list.
