Packaging and delivery
We’re committed to keeping packaging minimal while still protecting the freshness and quality of our produce. In 2023, we made the switch to 100% compostable bags for loose items. Made from renewable plant sources like sugarcane, corn, and beetroot, our bags break down naturally into water, CO₂, and biomass leaving behind no microplastics or pollutants.
With produce coming from hundreds of farms and suppliers, going entirely packaging-free isn’t yet possible, but all necessary materials: plastic, wood, and cardboard are responsibly recycled at New Covent Garden Market. We’re also happy to retrieve and reuse delivery boxes to reduce waste even further.
